ENS - Expected Number of Stages

Single sampling plans only have one stage. The ENS = 1. Double sampling plans have 2 stages. However, the second stage in not always used. The ENS = 1 + Probability of the Second Stage. Similarly, for multiple sampling plans the ENS is the average number of stages that are used over many inspections.
